"Hour of Code" challenge, March 13th - March 24th for grades 1-5
Welcome to an "Hour of Code" Challenge where students will have to do block coding for one hour on any game they are comfortable coding. We have had experience with block coding virtual robots, and we want to get students proficient with coding reak robots (Dash and Sphero). To earn a certificate:
- Type: "code.org" in URL field; Click "GO"
-
Scroll down and click on the bumble bee's nose for "Students"
-
The left box says "Hour of Code"; Click "Start" This is where students will choose a game to code.
-
Once students code a game for an hour under "code.org" a certificate will pop and it will need to be printed and brought to school, or email me the certificate: stacy.pitts@cobbk12.org
-
Bring in printed certificate to Mrs. Pitts in the morning as soon as you get to school, but before 8:00 am. Friday, March 24th is the deadline for the competition.
Certificates should be earned within these two weeks as no old certificate are eligible. Certificates should have the students name typed or written on the certificate, and each student may only participate one time during this two week period.
Welcome to Mrs. Pitts' blog! I am excited to be teaching in Vaughan's new STEM Lab. STEM learning is an integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Grades K-5 will receive integrated lessons in these four domains.
