The counselors are using ClassDojo again this year, and the kids love it! ClassDojo is a fun way for the instructor to help encourage and reward positive behavior to aid in classroom management. Students can earn points individually and as a classroom for exhibiting the following behaviors: "Helping Others"; "On Task", "Persistence", "Participating", "TeamWork", and "Working Hard". Points can be taken away for "Disrespect", "Talking out of Turn", and "Off Task" behaviors.
At the end of each guidance lesson, we hit the "report" key, and if 90% of the total points that were given/taken away were positive points, the class has earned 1 day. After a total of 3 positive guidance days, the students can vote on a reward (popsicle party, passwords to change their avatars on classdojo, bubblegum party, etc).
