Our Wilderness Survival Skills School at Red Top Mountain was great! Cadets loved working with the compasses on the orienteering course and building shelters and fires were also favorites. I have included some pictures of our cadets in action at the bottom of the post.
1) Type final copies of the 2 survival guide chapters. Parents or siblings may help with typing as long the helper types exactly what the student has written. Students must then make final edits on their own. There is a 2 week window for the typed copies to ensure that no one has to work on the project over fall break.
2) Bring both typed chapters, both chapter illustrations, and supplies to help make the group's front cover to class the week after fall break. I will be giving the students 1 hour in class to work on their front cover and table of contents. If they finish, they will be able to assemble the books in class and turn them in a week early. If they don't finish in class, or a student forgets their typed chapters and pictures, that group will need to come in before school one day or plan a time to meet at a friend house after school to finish with the front cover and assembly. The final project is due the week of October 7th.
3) Have an amazing fall break!
