EQ:  What are simple machines?

EQ:  How do simple machines make our work easier?

Task:  Today you will be learning about the six simple machines and how they make our work easier.  You may wish to take notes as you are viewing the two websites below.  There is a template in Kidspiration 3 called Simple Machines located under the Science tab that you will be completing.  Four of the simple machines are already listed for you, but you will be filling in the two that are missing.  For each simple machine give a definition and an example.  Please save your work under your student ID.  You will need to print your work to be turned in and graded.

Georgia Landforms

EQ:  What landforms in GA were caused by constructive forces?

EQ:  What landforms in GA were caused by destructive forces?

Task:  You will develop a travel brochure depicting various Georgia landforms that have been shaped by constructive forces or destructive forces, or by a combination of both.  You will need to research the landforms to gather information to include in the brochure.  Use the student handout and the example brochure as a guide.  You may use the following links to help you.

5th Grade Lesson Plan (November 4 - 14, 2011)

EQ:  How do I find the median and mode of a set of data?

EQ:  How do I show equivalent fractions?

Task:  As you can tell our focus today is on math.  You need to go to Kidpsiration 3 and click on Math, then Equivalent fractions.  Read and follow the directions.  You need to save your work under your ID number.  Next click on the link below.  You need to grab a student worksheet from my table and follow the directions and answer the questions.  This will count as a grade so please make sure you do your best work.  Put your name and teacher at the top right corner and place in my black tray on my desk when you are finished.  Early finishers may go to Type to Learn 4 and pick up where they left off from the last time.
