Planispheres

What tools can we use to help us identify patterns in the sky? The students learned to use a planisphere to identify individual stars and constellations in the sky. Would you like to print out your own planisphere to use at night? Take an opportunity to go outside, turn the center dial to match the correct day and time, and locate the constellations above!

Electromagnet Strength

The students conduct an experiment to see how an increased number of coils affect an electromagnets strength.

How do birds survive in the winter?

First grade students explored ways that birds survive the winter and offered a helping hand by providing an extra food source. They had a blast creating these pine cone feeders.

Science Olympiad T-shirts

Great news! Mrs. Case, our Art teacher and SO coach, offered to draw up a couple of t-shirt designs and Mrs. Gunning, also an SO coach, has a contact within a t-shirt company. The t-shirts will have a design on the front and all of the team members names on the back. Many of our SO members wear their t-shirts on Wednesdays. I will post the form on the blog soon and send it through email.
