Last week we began taking math fact timed tests. The students must pass each of the six timed tests for additon with 100% accuracy in 90 seconds before moving onto subtraction. The tests are broken into facts, such as, 2s & 3s, 4s & 5s, 6s & 7s, 8s & 9s, 10s & 11s, and 12s & Mixed.
For addition, the students are earning popcorn pieces for their popcorn bucket. As for subtraction, they will be earning parts to a movie reel. This will track their progress towards the big reward of popcorn and a movie at the end of the quarter for all third grade students who pass all addition and subtraction timed tests. The deadline to pass all these tests will be October 14th.
