Reading- Reading logs are due Monday. Students are to have at least 90 minutes read and recorded. Students are also reading assigned chapter books and each group was assigned a chapter or 2 to read Thursday and/or Friday. Most students read their chapters on Friday, but some of them should be finishing this weekend. Remember, these chapter books can be recorded on the Reading logs.
Math- We have begun multiplication. Most students are taking 2's and 3's. A few students are on 4's and 5's, and we even have one student who is working on division.
Friday folders need to come back Monday signed. Please take a few minutes to go over the papers in the folder with your child. It is great to go over their mistakes, so they will get even more practice with the standards we have been studying.
Reading- Fossil Packet is due Friday. Don't forget the children should be reading the passage 2 times. Reading Logs are due Monday. Remember the students have to now read at least 90 minutes instead of 75.
Spelling- Wednesday Spelling (Contractions) All students only need to do 10 words. Spelling Test Friday.
**Yeah, Testing is over!! Thank you so much to Mrs. King and Superhero Yogurt for helping us celebrate the end of testing. Mrs. King owns Superhero Yogurt and she brought all of us a free cup of their delicious yogurt.
**We enjoyed seeing all of you at the Fall Festival. Our basket and pumpkin looked great. I'm sure they went to a wonderful home.
* Don't forget that you and your child can check the BLOG daily for homework. On the BLOG your child can also find links to practice many different standards.
*Don't forget to sign behavior sheets when you child receives a check and sign the agenda nightly. Please remember we are trying to teach the children responsibility, so it is their job to ask you to sign the agenda.
*The Reading Log expectations are increasing for the 2nd Nine Weeks. The students will now be expected to read at least 90 minutes per week. We know they are all capable. Please sign the Reading Log on Sunday or daily next to where your child logs in his or her reading. You would just have to squeeze your intials in by the title or time read. This will insure that your child is reading on most days or nights. We have told them any reading done independently at school may be recorded on the log. Also remind your child that the reading log is a way for us to make the children accountable for the reading they do, so they should be putting in the time and effort. We are looking for quality over quantity.
