I am an explorer who loves to learn new things and understand how and why they work. In the summers, I travel to many places on the globe to take part in research and various learning opportunities, and I love bringing those adventures back to my students in the most realistic way possible.
This is my 19th year of teaching and 15 of those years have been spent working with Target students. I couldn't enjoy my job more and truly love coming to work each day. I am proud to be a teacher and to have the opportunity to impact and inspire the next generation. Attending workshops and conferences, reading professional journals, and collaborating with my peers are all ways that I seek to continue learning and growing as an educator.
I have many hobbies and interests including: flying general aviation aircraft, scuba diving, hiking and camping, playing tennis, reading, painting, drawing and spending time with my two cats- Teva and Zudicus. I enjoy learning both in and out of the classroom and have earned bachelor’s degrees in education, psychology, and biology, and a master’s degree in adolescent science education. I have an intermediate EMT license, a commercial pilot's license with an an instrument rating, and currently am working on a glider rating and learning to speak Russian. I love trying new things, visiting new places, and sampling everything life has to offer.
